Lana Ali

My name is Lana Ali, and I am an Information Technology student at Northern Virginia
Community College. I chose to graduate from high school early because I was eager to begin
working toward my long-term goals and start building my future. Beginning college early
allowed me to accelerate my education and move one step closer to a meaningful career in
technology.

Throughout my time at NOVA, I have remained committed to my education and have been
honored to earn both Dean's List and President's List recognition. I take pride in staying
organized, working hard, and making my education a priority. These experiences have
strengthened my determination to continue learning and growing both academically and
professionally.

Beyond the classroom, I have enjoyed giving back to my community. For two summers, I
volunteered with Enterprise Community Partners, where I worked with a team to support
families living in affordable housing communities. We developed educational activities, created
materials, and connected residents with resources related to topics such as mental health and
community wellness. This experience taught me the importance of service, collaboration, and
finding meaningful ways to make a positive impact.

I have also worked part-time throughout my college career, most recently as a barista. Balancing
work and school has strengthened my time management, communication, and teamwork skills
while teaching me the value of responsibility and consistency.

This fall, I will be transferring to George Mason University to continue pursuing a bachelor's
degree in Information Technology. I am especially interested in cloud computing because I enjoy
learning about new technologies, solving problems, and being part of a field that is constantly
evolving. I look forward to building a career where I can continue learning while contributing to
innovative solutions that make a difference.
