Haleema Jaffri

MY STORY

My name is Haleema Jaffri, and I am currently a rising senior pursuing a Bachelor of Science
and Accelerated Masters in Cyber Security Engineering at George Mason University. As a
first-generation college student, immigrant, and woman in STEM, my educational journey has
been shaped by perseverance, resilience, and a commitment to making the most of every
opportunity.

I’m studying cybersecurity because I believe technology should empower people while keeping
their information and critical systems secure. As our world becomes increasingly connected,
cybersecurity professionals play an essential role; knowing that my work can contribute to
making organizations and people's lives safer is what continues to motivate me.

In the past year, I’ve started my accelerated master's program at GMU. Following
the completion of my bachelor's degree, I plan to continue into George Mason University's
master's program in Cybersecurity. Earning both degrees will provide me with advanced
knowledge in the cybersecurity field and equip me with skills to contribute in order to make the
digital space secure for all.

In the last year, I have made significant progress toward my academic and professional goals, improving my GPA while continuing to gain valuable hands-on experience in cybersecurity. I was also invest in a cybersecurity certification, further strengthening my technical skills and preparing me for future
career opportunities.

I look forward to building on that progress and making a meaningful contribution to the cybersecurity community.
